Mulligan, Newton Earn Scholar Athlete Honors

Lindsay Newton and Lynn Mulligan earned spots on the National Golf Coaches Association Scholar Athlete team released this summer by the organization. The two were among 368 student athletes selected among all college divisions across the country.
Newton, a junior last year from North Platte, Neb., tied for first and lost in a playoff in last fall's North Central Conference tournament and finished 22nd in the NCAA II North Regional. She is majoring in religion.
Mulligan, who was also a junior, is from Kansas City, Mo., and is a pharmacy major. She was third in the NCC meet and finished 11th in the regional tournament.
Both players earned all-NCC first-team honors for the Mavericks.
