Runners Open Season Saturday

The Mavericks open competition for the 2007 season Saturday in the UNO/CU Invitational meet at Chalco Hills. The four-team, 5-kilometer meet will begin at 11 a.m.
Seniors Kaylen Harris, who finished ninth in last year's North Central Conference meet and Tahnee Tuenge, who was seventh in the 2005 conference race, head an eight-runner roster for second-year coach Steve Smith.
Other teams competing include co-host Creighton, Nebraska and Iowa Western. The Mavericks finished second in last year's meet, with Harris posting a third-place finish.
