Pinar Saka Named Track Athlete of the Week

Junior Pinar Saka's performance last week has earned her the North Central Conference indoor track athlete of the week honor.
Saka, from Istanbul, Turkey, recorded the fastest time thus far in NCAA Division II with a 400-meter mark of 53.94 seconds. She also took part in UNO's 4x400-meter relay team win. Saka's 400-meter time was a school record, breaking Carri Butler's mark of 54.60 set in 1996.
The Mavericks get back into action this weekend when they travel to South Dakota to run in the Graphic Edge meet in the DakotaDome on Saturday.
