Jayhawks Splash Past Mavericks

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO Swimming and Diving team dropped a 166-85 dual meet decision to Division I Kansas on Saturday afternoon at HPER pool. The Jayhawks earned the top two spots in 11 of 14 events to earn the win.
Highlights for the Mavericks included wins in the final three events. Sophomore #Jessica Connick and freshman Michelle Bene# took the top two spots in one-meter diving. Connick won with a point total of 242.25.
The Mavericks took the top three spots in the 200-yard individual medley. Junior #Jessica LaFave# took first in a time of 2:09.74. Sophomore #Laura Kemp was in second and senior Lindsey Kline# was third.
UNO also had the top two spots in the final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of #Kristy Gmeiner#, #Lucy Zamecnik#, #Katey Howarter and Cait Hopkins# won in a time of 1:35.8.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 3-4 on the season. They return to the pool on November 20 for the four-day Husker Invitational in Lincoln.
