Mavericks Face D-I Teams in the Pool

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska-Omaha swimming and diving team held down eighth place after the first day of competition at the Husker Invitational in Lincoln. The Mavericks are the only Division II team competing out of nine teams in the event.

Senior #Lindsey Kline# finished in 18^th place in the 1650-yard freestyle, a massive event featuring 45 total swimmers. Kline posted a time of 17:50.9 to earn three points for the Mavs in that event.

The team of Kline, sophomore #Lucy Zamecnik#, senior #Katie Hubbell and senior Katey Howarter# picked up 16 points by finishing 20^th in the 400-yard freestyle relay. They finished in a time of 3:41.46. UNO's second relay team of sophomore #Laura Kemp#, freshman #Amy Bechdolt#, freshman #Kylie Hubbell and sophomore Sara Hallgren# earned 8 more points for a 27^th place finish in a time of 3:49.39.

The Mavericks have earned 27 points through day one. The Husker Invitational runs through Sunday.
