LINCOLN, Neb. – The UNO swimming and diving team finds itself in a four-way tie for seventh place after the second day of the Husker Invitational. The Mavericks earned 77 points through 16 events on Friday for a two-day total of 104.
LINCOLN, Neb. – The UNO swimming and diving team finds itself in a four-way tie for seventh place after the second day of the Husker Invitational. The Mavericks earned 77 points through 16 events on Friday for a two-day total of 104.
The Mavs opened the day with a 13th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of #Kristy Gmeiner#, Collen Klaiber, #Cait Hopkins and Katey Howarter# finished in a time of 1:40.57 to earn 22 points.
Gmeiner picked up 8 points for the Mavs with a third place finish in the B-Final of the 50-yard freestyle. Her time of 24.73 just edged out Rice University's Diane Gu at 24.76. Howarter took seventh at 24.88.
The Mavs earned 18 more points in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Gmeiner, #Laura Kemp#, #Jessica LaFave# and Hopkins finished with a time of 4:06.78.
#Jessica Connick# took 16th place in the final event of the day, the 1-meter diving. Her point total of 183.2 was good for 5 points.
