LINCOLN, Neb. - The UNO swimming and diving team finished four days of competition with an eighth place finish at the Husker Invitational on Sunday. The Mavericks earned 188 points to edge out the University of Northern Iowa at 167. The Mavericks were the only Division II school at this otherwise Division I event.
In the B Final of the 100-yard butterfly, UNO's #Katey Howarter# took 6th place in a time of 54.08, good for five points toward the team total.
Rice University won the event with a score of 1,200. North Texas took second at 1,079, just squeaking by Colorado State University with 1,067 points. Host Nebraska finished in fifth place with 867 points.
The Mavericks return home to host their own meet, the Mutual of Omaha Invite, on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6 at HPER pool. Each day's session begins at 10 a.m.
