Mavericks Fall to Iowa State

Iowa State captured seven of 10 events Friday night to notch a 122-61 dual meet victory over the University of Nebraska at Omaha at the HPER Pool. Jessica Hessel won twice and Sara Hallgren once to pace UNO.
The Mavericks, now 3-8 in dual meets, will close their regular season schedule Saturday afternoon at Nebraska-Kearney at 1. The Cyclones improved to 5-2.
Hessel won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.54 seconds and then came out on top in the 100-yard freestyle as UNO swept the top three spots. Hessel posted a mark of 53.33, ahead of teammates Cait Hopkins and Megan Guthmiller.
Hallgren won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:01.99.
The Mavericks will be idle after the dual at UNK until hosting the final North Central Conference swim meet Feb. 21-24.
