Long Jump Win Helps Brown Earn NCC Honor

Freshman Shana Brown's winning performance in the long jump last week has earned her the North Central Conference women's field athlete of the week honor.
She shares the award with St. Cloud State's Amanada Kunkel.
Brown, from Carson, Calif., won the event with a mark of 18-feet, 8 inches (5.65 meters) at the John Dalton Open at the University of South Dakota. Her jump, a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA II national meet, is the second-best performance in the NCC this year.
The Mavericks will compete in the Prairie Wolf Invitational Friday in Lincoln, Neb.
