North Dakota Back in Lead, Mavs 2nd

The Maverick relay team set a league record and Carrie Murphy and Lindsey Kline were second in two other events Saturday, but it wasn't enough to stop North Dakota from moving back into first place after the third day of competition at the North Central Conference swimming and diving meet at the HPER Pool Saturday.
North Dakota has 884.5 points and UNO 813 before the meet wraps up with Sunday's competition. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
UNO began the day with a 32.5-point lead over the defending champion Fighting Sioux. The Mavericks maintained the lead through the first event, with Lindsey Kline swimming to a second-place finish, just .59 seconds behind UND's Brittany Jamerson who set a meet record with a time of 5:00.32. UNO's Ashley Barna and Carly Lehman finished 4th and 6th, respectively, but UND went 1-3-5.
The Sioux moved past UNO with a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard backstroke while Mavs Kristy Gmeiner and Cait Hopkins finished 8th and 13th.
Murphy was second and Laura Kemp fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke, while UND went 3-4-6.
The Mavericks finished the day with a victory in the 800-yard freestyle relay by the squad of Barna, Hopkins, Megan Guthmiller and Kline, with UND second. Kline swam the anchor leg, helping produce a record time of 7:36.69.
