Mavericks to Compete in adidas Classic Friday, Sat

The Mavericks will return to Lincoln this weekend to compete at the adidas Classic in the Devaney Indoor Track Center.
Katie Harvey will compete in the weight throw at 5 p.m. and Kaylen Harris will run the 5,000-meter event at 7 p.m. in Friday's abreviated event schedule. Saturday's events begin at 11 a.m.
Saturday's events for the Mavericks:
Long Jump, 11 a.m., Rasheema Pitt, Ashley Yates, Blair Schmidt
Triple Jump, Pitt, Yates Shot Put, 12 p.m., Madison Haugland
400 Meters, 1:25 p.m., Pinar Saka, Anja Puc, Jessica Purdy, Kayla Koepke
600-Yard Run, 2:12 p.m., Jolene Smith
800 Meters, 3:28 p.m., Lisa Tesarek
200 Meters, 4:42 p.m., Koepke, Puc, Purdy, Saka
Last week, UNO junior Pinar Saka captured the 400 meter title with an automatic qualifying time of 53.77. Saka, who ran the fastest qualifying time in the prelims with a 53.61, owns the fastest times in NCAA Division II in the 400 as well as the 200-meter dash with a 24.49 earlier this year.
Teams competing in addition to UNO include:
