Harris Wins 5000 at adidas Classic

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Kaylen Harris captured the 5000-meter title Friday for the Mavericks in the adidas Classic at the Devaney Indoor Track Center.
Harris, a senior from Omaha, ran the race in 18:14.92, to easily win over Concordia's Taylor Felix, who finished in 18:34.73.
Katie Harvey, the only other Maverick competing in Friday's events, was 18th in the weight throw with a mark of 43-11 3/4.
The Mavericks resume competition in the meet Saturday, with field events beginning at 11 a.m.
