Weddle Leads Mavs Into 1st

POTTSBORO, Texas -- Abbey Weddle fired a first-round 79 to share the individual lead and boost the University of Nebraska at Omaha into first place in the 36-hole Lion Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course Monday. The final round will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun start.
The Mavericks, at 324, hold a 12-shot advantage over West Texas A&M in the 15-team tournament.
Weddle shares the top spot with Raelynn Farthing of Central Oklahoma and Drury's Marissa Hill after shooting 41-38 on the 5,986-yard, par-72 layout.
Other Maverick scores include Sara Wolfe, tied for fourth with an 80; Lynn Mulligan, tied for eighth with an 82 and Erin Ommen, tied for 10th with an 83. Lindsay Newton carded a 93, Kate O'Dea a 96 and Dani Suponchick an 84.
