The University of Nebraska at Omaha trails by six shots after the first round of play in the Ironwood Collegiate Classic. Augustana claimed the lead with a team score of 340. The meet will conclude with a shotgun start Monday at 9:30 a.m.
Augustana's Courtney Belanger shot an 82 on the 5,974-yard, par-72 Ironwood Country Club as the field of 43 golfers battled high winds to take the individual lead. UNO's Sara Wolfe stands fourth after an 85.
Mavericks Erin Ommen, Abbey Weddle and Dani Suponchick, competing as an individual, are a shot back at 86. Lynn Mulligan, the defending champion, shot an 89. Lindsay Newton carded a 94 and Kate O'Dea, also competing as an individual, had a 92.
