Mavericks Finish 2nd in Ironwood Classic

The University of Nebraska at Omaha put three players in the top eight, but it wasn't enough to overtake Augustana, which recorded its second-straight Ironwood Classic championship Monday at the Ironwood Country Club.
Sara Wolfe shot a second-round 83 for a 168 36-hole total to tie for fifth to lead the Mavericks. Abbey Weddle also fired an 83 to finish seventh and Erin Ommen tied for eighth after her 85.
Augustana, behind individual champion Carley Roach, who shot a 78 Monday for a 162 total, had a 330 team score for a 670 total. The Mavericks finished 12 shots back after Monday's 336 with a 682.
The Mavericks' next action will be in the Okoboji Invitational Saturday and Sunday. UNO will serve as the host school for the 13-team, 36-hole tournament.
