HOUSTON, Texas -- Lynn Mulligan shot a second-round 76 and the Mavericks improved by a shot with a 318 total Wednesday to move into seventh place after the second round of the NCAA Division II championship.
Nova Southeastern continues to hold the lead in the eight-team national finals at the par-72 Memorial Park Golf Course with a seven-shot lead over Rollins.
Mulligan, at 154 at the halfway point, is tied for 24th, while Abbey Weddle moved into a tie for 35th with a 79 to stand at 159. Lindsay Newton shot an 83 and is tied for 41st at 163; Sara Wolfe is tied for 44th after her 80 for a 164 total, and Erin Ommen is 47th after an 88 put her at 169.
The third round will begin Thursday at 9 a.m.
UNO, with 637, leads eighth-place Augustana by three shots. Florida Southern's Heather Burgner, Joanna Coe of Rollins and Taylor Collins of Nova Southeastern share the individual lead at even-par 144.
