Mavs Host Meet to Open Cross Country Season

The University of Nebraska at Omaha will get its first taste of cross country competition Saturday when the Mavericks host the UNO/CU Classic at Chili Greens, 68th and Spring Streets. The women's meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the men's meet at 10:30 a.m.
UNO, Creighton, Nebraska-Lincoln, Augustana and Iowa Western Community College will compete in the 4,000-meter women's race and all except UNO in the 6,000-meter men's race.
The meet will mark the lone home appearance for the Mavericks in 2008. The young UNO squad features five freshmen and three sophomores.
