
Mavericks In Third After Day One of Husker Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. - The UNO swimming an diving team held down third place after the first day of competition in the four-day Husker Invite hosted by the University of Nebraska. The Mavericks had 108 points after just two events. Day two action begins on Friday morning at the Devaney Center natatorium.
Seven Mavericks scored in the first event of the meet, the 1,650 yard freestyle. #Amy Bechdolt and Laura Kemp# were UNO's top finishers, going seven-eight in the event. Bechdolt finished in a time of 18:07.49 while Kemp clocked a time of 18:11.85.
The Mavericks finished 11th in the other event of the night, the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Kemp, Bechdolt, #Lucy Zamecnik and Kylie Hubbell# finished with a time of 3:42.38, scoring 24 points for the Mavs.
UNO is the only Division II team competing in the four-team meet. Rice University leads with a score of 152 followed by Nebraska at 130. South Dakota State is in fourth with 78 points.
