Mavs Fourth After Day Two at Husker Invite

LINCOLN, Neb.- The UNO swimming team completed its second day of competition at the Husker Invitational at the Devaney Natatorium Friday. The Mavericks dropped from third place to fourth at the end of the day and are sitting with 266.5 points.
In the 200 m freestyle relay, #Alicia Goetz#, #Lucy Zamecnik#, #Colleen Klaiber and Cait Hopkins# raced to a fifth place finish with a time of 1:42 and earned 26 points towards the Mavs team score.
Hopkins the followed with a top 20 finish at 14 with a time of 5:19 in the 500 yard freestyle to earn seven more points. #Mattie Fosbender# then swam to another top 20 finish at 18th place with a time of 2:21 in the 200 yard IM. UNO finished in the top 20 in all of Friday's events.
UNO dropped to fourth place while South Dakota State moved forward to third after the second day of events. Nebraska swam past Rice to finish in first after the second day.
The Husker Invitational continues on Saturday morning with a preliminary session starting at 9 a.m. and the finals at 4 p.m.
