Lincoln, Neb. - The UNO swimming team placed fourth with 568.5 points after the final day of competition at the Husker Invitational Sunday at the Devaney Natatorium in Lincoln. The Huskers clinched the title with 1,901 points followed by Rice with 1,309 points and South Dakota State with 725.5 points.
UNO began the day with the 200 yard backstroke with a 16th place finish by sophomore Amy Bechdolt with a time of 2:17 good enough for five points. Freshman Nicole DeBoer added three more points at 18th place finish with a time of 2:19 followed by freshman Ariel Lahowetz in 20th place and one point with a time of 2:22.
Junior Cait Hopkins finished in the top ten at 8th place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.69 and added 15 more points to the UNO score.
The Mavs will return to action December 4-5 when they host the Mutual of Omaha Invite in Omaha.
