Mavericks Host Mutual of Omaha Invite This Weekend

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO swim team will host nine other swim teams at the 2009 Mutual of Omaha Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5 at HPER Pool on the UNO campus. The meet begins each day with preliminary heats at 10 a.m. Finals will be 6 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Mavericks are the four-time defending champions of the event.
The other teams participating include the College of St. Mary, Morningside College, Nebraska-Kearney, Simpson College, Northern Iowa, and swim clubs from the Universities of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri.
The Mavericks return home for the first time since their dual meet against Nebraska-Kearney on Oct. 2. Since that time, they have competed against primarily Division I competition. They last swam at the Husker Invitational hosted by Nebraska on November 19-22. The Mavs finished in fourth behind Nebraska, Rice and South Dakota State.
This will also be UNO's last meet until the new year. The Mavericks won't return to action until January 15 at Minnesota State.
