Mavericks In Second After Day One of Championship

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO swimming and diving team held down second place after the first day of events at the Northern Sun Championships being held at HPER Pool on the UNO campus. The abbreviated session featured just two events--the 1,000 yard freestyle and the women's one meter diving.
The Mavericks have 74 points, 12 clear of third-place South Dakota. St. Cloud State is in first with 115 points.
UNO's #Lindsey Kline# took home top honors in the 1,000 with a time of 10:32.31, four seconds faster than runner up Jessica Doar of Minnesota State Moorhead. Maverick swimmer #Amy Bechdolt# was seventh in a time of 10:48.05, and teammate #Tessa Edwards# was twelfth in a time of 10:53.31. UNO's #Kylie Hubbell# was sixteenth at 11:27.34
UNO's #Jessica Connick# finished fourth in the women's one meter diving with a score of 372.50. St. Cloud State's Kelsey Berkeland took first with a score of 400.85 edging Janel Duffy of Minnesota State Mankato at 396.90.
