WAYNE, Neb. - The UNO women's golf team was in first place after the first day of competition at the Wayne State Invite. The event is the first of the spring season for the Mavericks. #Abbey Weddle# led all golfers with a first round score of 79.
The Mavericks had five of the top six scorers after day one to post a team score of 332. Wayne State was in second at 354 while Nebraska-Kearney was in third at 359.
#Dani Suponchick was in second with a score of 83 while Rebecca Pollock# was tied for third with Nebraska-Kearney's Sara Wissing at 84. #Erin Ommen# held down fifth place with a score of 86, and #Amy Powell# was in sixth with a score of 88.
The two-day tournament finishes tomorrow at the Wayne Country Club.
