Mavericks Tied For Seventh After Round One

SEASIDE, Calif. - The UNO women's golf team is one of two teams holding down seventh place after the first round of play at the Lady Otter Spring Invitational hosted by California State University Monterey Bay. #Abbey Weddle# had the Mavericks' low round of the day at 82.
California Baptist University leads the tournament with a first round team score of 318. Host Cal State Monterey Bay is two strokes back in second and Sonoma State University is in third. The Mavericks are tied with the University of British Columbia for seventh with a first round team score of 341. The tournament features 13 teams.
Weddle was tied with three other golfers for eleventh place. #Dani Suponchick# shot an 84 and is tied for 16th place. #Rebecca Pollock# finished third for the Mavs with an 87 to put her in a tie for 35th place. #Erin Ommen# shot 88, good for a tie for 39th place while #Amy Powell# shot 90 to hold down 47th overall.
Malin Thorberg of California Baptist and Anne Balser of Victoria University of British Columbia tied for the low round of the day at 75.
The tournament concludes tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. Central time with a shotgun start.
