UNO Announces Athletic Director Finalists

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Nebraska at Omaha Chancellor John Christensen announced today that the athletic director search committee has recommended four names for further consideration.
The finalists for UNO athletic director include Trev Alberts, television and print college football commentator and analyst; Nolan Beyer, athletic director for Millard South High School; Bill Danenhauer, athletic director and head football coach at Dana College; and Mike Marcil, commissioner of the Sunshine State Conference in Orlando, Fla.
The finalists have been reviewed by the committee and completed a set of phone interviews. Calls to references are now being made. Christensen will visit by phone with each candidate recommended for consideration and will also receive further search committee input.
"Each of the four who have been recommended by the committee have a different set of skills and experiences they would bring to the department, university and our community,” Christensen said. Christensen serves as chair of the search committee. “The work by members of our committee has been excellent and much appreciated.”
After Christensen conducts the individual phone interviews and reference checks are completed, the candidate or candidates who appear to be the best fit for the position will be invited to campus for further discussions. The intent is to have a hire made before the end of the spring semester.
“Our goal is to find someone who is the right fit for a dynamic Division II athletic program with a highly competitive Division I hockey team,” Christensen said. “This institution's athletic excellence offers a tremendous opportunity for the right person.”
David Miller, the current UNO athletic director, accepted a similar position at Upper Iowa University last month.
