Dominguez Earns All-Rookie Team Nod

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO wrestler Esai Dominguez was named to the All-Rookie Third Team by Amateur Wrestling News magazine last month. The magazine honors wrestlers in Division I, II and III. Dominguez earned the nod wrestling in the 149 pound class.
Dominguez, an Omaha native who wrestled at Creighton Prep before coming to UNO, was 37-11 this season including a 9-3 record in duals. He took third place in his weight class at the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship which the Mavericks won with a school record 146.5 points.
The 2009 National Championship was the sixth overall for the Mavericks and their fourth in the last six years.
