LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Three UNO golfers finished in the top ten to lead the UNO golf team to a second place finish at the Wildwood Lodge Invitational hosted by Concordia St. Paul on Monday at Tartan Park Golf Course. The Mavericks finished just one stroke behind Winona State to finish second for the second straight week.
Winona State won with a team score of 639 for the two-day tournament. The Mavericks came in at 640 including a score of 321 on the final day. Upper Iowa finished in third place at 642.
#Dani Suponchick and Abbey Weddle# each posted a two-day score of 160 to finish in a three way tie for seventh. #Armana Christianson# was one shot back at 161 to finish third for the Mavericks and in a tie for tenth overall. #Erin Ommen# shot a 79 on Monday to finish in a seven-way tie for 14th at 163. #Rebecca Pollock and Ricca Soper# both finished at 164 to tie for 21st place. Soper was playing the tournament as an individual.
Winona State's Michelle Narveson was the individual medalist with a score of 152, one stroke ahead of Augustana's Emily Kvidera who finished second.
The Mavericks return to action on Saturday, Sept. 26 when they take part in the Mustang Invitational hosted Southwest Minnesota State.
