MARSHALL, Minn. - Sophomore #Rebecca Pollock# shot a final round 76 on Sunday to lead the UNO golf team to a comeback win in the Mustang Invite hosted by Southwest Minnesota State. Pollock tied for first to earn her first individual medalist honor as the Mavericks rallied from fourth place to win at the Marshall Golf Club.
UNO finished with a two-day score of 637, closing with a team score of 315 on Sunday to win by six strokes. The Mavericks began the day in fourth place, five strokes back of first-round leaders Gustavus Adolphus and Wisconsin Eau Claire. Gustavus finished in second place at 643 while Wisconsin Eau Claire was third with a score of 649.
The win was UNO's second of the fall season and came on the heels of two straight second place finishes.
Pollock carded a score of 155, tying her with Kathleen Ritter of Minnesota State. Anne Martin of Concordia St. Paul was third, one stroke back.
#Armana Christianson# was second for UNO at 161, finishing in 13th place overall. #Erin Ommen and Abbey Weddle tied for 14th at 162 while Dani Suponchick# finished in a three-way tie for 17th place at 163. #Elizabeth Havekost#, playing as an individual, tied for 26th at 166.
The Mavericks return to action on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Northwest Missouri State Fall Classic.
