COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The UNO golf team earned a convincing win over a field of ten other teams in the Lady Reiver Fall Classic hosted by Iowa Western Community College. The Mavericks shot a team score of 16-over par 304 to win the event, their first of the fall season.
UNO won by 36 strokes over second place Northwestern College of Iowa. Dana College came in third with a team score of 347.
The Mavericks' #Erin Ommen# was the individual medalist with an even par score of 72. Teammate #Rebecca Pollock# posted a career best 73 to finish in second place. Dana's Alex Curry and Sam Pinkel finished third and fourth respectively.
UNO had the next three golfers. Newcomer #Armana Christianson#, a transfer from Creighton, finished with a score of 79 while #Dani Suponchick and Abbey Weddle# tied for sixth with scores of 80.
The Mavericks return to action on Sept. 14 and 15 at the Lady Panther Fall Shootout hosted by Drury University.
