UNO Hires New A.D. For External Operations

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Nebraska at Omaha Director of Athletics #Trev Alberts# today announced the hiring of Josh White as the department's new Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. In addition, Alberts announced the promotion of Ann Oatman to the position of Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Josh's caliber on our staff,” said Alberts. “His broad range of experience at the NCAA and within the University of Nebraska system and his familiarity with UNO make him uniquely suited to helping direct our efforts in the greater Omaha community.
“Ann has demonstrated a keen grasp of all aspects of our business operations since joining the department,” Alberts added. “She is perfectly suited to assume further oversight of several key areas of athletic department operations. Both Josh and Ann will be excellent additions to our executive staff.”
As Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, White will direct compliance, academics/life skills, marketing and development for UNO. He returns to the university after serving as its Compliance Director and academic coordinator from 1999-2002. Since 2006, he had been the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Planning for the Nebraska athletic department. White managed all facets of the NCAA rules-compliance education program for coaches, student-athletes, staff and boosters. He also helped set policy, develop goals and objectives and manage personnel in the compliance office. White also worked to develop Nebraska's planning initiatives to streamline organizational processes, which includes managing and coordinating the five-year Athletic Department Strategic Plan (2008-13).
Before he worked at Nebraska, White was the Associate Director for Membership Services at the NCAA from 2002 to 2006. While there, he supervised the day-to-day operations of the Division I athletics certification program. He was the lead administrator for new staff training and professional development within the office. White also was involved in the interpretation of NCAA rules, performed compliance reviews and was a presenter at NCAA regional compliance seminars. He received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Nebraska in 1995 and went on to earn his juris doctorate from the Nebraska College of Law in 1999.
Oatman has served as the athletic department's business manager since September of 2009. As Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, she will oversee concessions, ticketing, athletic training and equipment operations for the department as well as manage administrative assistants and the cheer and dance teams. Oatman is a 1994 graduate of the University of South Dakota.
