Mavs Ranked No. 1 Heading Into NWCA National Duals

EDMOND, Okla. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team kept a lock on and is once again the unanimous No. 1 pick, according to the third regular season poll released Tuesday by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.
The Mavericks will enter this weekend's NWCA Division II National Duals as the No. 1 seed. Joining the Mavs in the 16-team tournament will be Newberry, Nebraska-Kearney, Central Oklahoma, Western State, Wisconsin-Parkside, Augustana, St. Cloud State, Upper Iowa, Minnesota State, West Liberty, Fort Hays State, Gannon, San Francisco, Central Missouri and Mercyhurst.
UNO, which went undefeated in duals last season at 13-0 and won last year's NWCA DII National Duals, received all eight first-place votes in balloting of coaches from around the country to finish with 160 points. UNO sat atop the poll in all seven rankings last season.
UNO has wrestlers ranked individually in eight of the 10 weight classes.
Cody Garcia (133) is No. 2, Mario Morgan (141) is No. 6, Esai Dominguez (149) is No. 4, Ryan Pankoke (165) is No. 5, Aaron Denson (174) is no. 2, Austin Boehm (184) is No. 3, Jacob Marrs (197) is No. 4 and Elijah Madison (285) is No. 3.
The 2010 NWCA National Duals get underway from the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 9. UNO's opponent for first-round action will be determined later this week.
