Bergland and Lingenfelter Named Second-Team All-Am

OMAHA, Neb. -- UNO offensive linemen Dennis Bergland and Harrison Lingenfelter were named second-team Daktronics All-Americans on Tuesday, as Daktronics released its list of postseason awards.
The honor was the first All-American award for both seniors.
Bergland, a native of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Lingenfelter, from Plainview, Neb., started all 11 games for the Mavs, helping anchor an offensive line that led the Mavs to the second-best rushing offense (202.6 ypg) in the MIAA and the fourth-best scoring offense (34.8 ppg).
Bergland, Lingenfelter and the offensive line unit allowed only 13 sacks on the season, the second lowest total in the MIAA.
Two weeks ago, Bergland and Lingenfelter were both named to the All-Super Region Four First Team, and both were also All-MIAA First-Team selections this year.
Lingenfelter was also selected to compete in the Cactus Bowl on Jan. 7.
Central Missouri quarterback Eric Czerniewski was named Offensive Player of the Year, and Valdosta State linebacker Larry Dean earned Defensive Player of the Year.
