Mavericks Ready For Cross Country Nationals

LOUISVILLE, Ky - Anja Puc and #Katarina Zarudnaya# will represent the UNO cross country team in the NCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday morning. Both runners qualified as individuals at the South Central Regional two weeks ago.
Neither runner had competed in a cross country race until this season. Puc is primarily a sprint and short distance specialist. She was the NCAA National Champion in the 800 m both indoors and outdoors last year.
Zarudnaya, a freshman, finished fifth in the regional meet behind Puc who was second, just eight seconds behind the overall winner.
Both runners ran the two fastest times in the 6 k in school history.
The women's race will follow the men's race at 11 a.m. CT.
