The two-time defending national champion UNO wrestling team started the regular season unanimously atop the first NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll, released on Wednesday.
The Mavericks received all eight first-place votes from the coaches' ballots to total 160 points. UNO topped every poll the past two seasons on its way to winning back-to-back titles.
Esai Dominguez (149), George Ivanov (157) and Elijah Madison (285) all represented the Mavs at the top of their respective weight rankings.
Terrell McKinney is No. 2 at 125 pounds, Mario Morgan is No. 2 at 141 pounds, Ryan Pankoke is fourth at 174 pounds, and Aaron Denson is fourth at 184 pounds.
St. Cloud State (Minn.) collected 150 points and maintained its No. 2 rating, while Augustana (S.D.) stayed third with 141 points. Western State (Colo.) moved up from sixth to fourth with 137 points and Newberry (S.C.) was fifth.
UNO competes at the Loper Open, hosted by Nebraska-Kearney, this Saturday at 9 a.m.
