Mavericks Head to Finals after Day Two Prelims

Omaha, Neb. – The Maverick swimmers kicked off day two of the Midwestern Collegiate Championships with the prelims Thursday morning in the UNO HPER Pool. Four Mavs qualified in the 500 yard freestyle and six qualified in the 50 yard freestyle.
Junior #Laura Kemp# qualified first in the 200 yard IM at 2:09.15. The 400 yard medley relay team with sophomores #Ariel Lahowetz#, #Colleen Klaiber#, freshman #Chelsea Hartman and junior Cait Hopkins# qualified on top with a time of 3:55.93.
UNO is currently in third place with 54 points behind the first place Huskies of Saint Cloud State with 74 points and the Mavericks from Minnesota State University with 69 points. The University of Colorado swim club follows UNO with seven points.
The finals are set to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in the HPER Pool.
