Hockey and Hoop Playoffs On Tap For Maverick Round

OMAHA, Neb. - Both the UNO hockey and men's basketball teams have advanced to the next round of postseason play. Both sports take center stage on this week's Maverick Roundup presented by Methodist Health System, the official podcast of UNO athletics.
The Maverick hockey team goes to Ferris State for the second round of the CCHA playoffs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6:05 p.m. CT. Head coach #Dean Blais talks with host Dave Ahlers# about improvements his team has made.
Men's basketball coach #Derrin Hansen# also speaks to Ahlers about the Mavs' recent MIAA championship and the challenge of the NCAA tournament. UNO will begin action in the South Central Regional against Tarleton State on Saturday, March 14 at 8:30 p.m.
Also on the docket this week, the Mavericks host the Division II Wrestling National Championship at Sapp Fieldhouse and UNO track and swimming are in their own national championship chase.
