Six Mavericks Earn All-American Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced that 278 student athletes, including six members of the UNO indoor track and field team, will receive USTFCCCA All-America honors for Division II. UNO's #Anja Puc#, #Nkeiruka Domike#, #Heather Minssen#, #Shannon Moore#, #Kayla Koepke and Maja Mihalinec# all will be recognized for their performances at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships last weekend.
Puc was a national champion in the 800 meters with a nation-leading and school record time of 2:07.14. Domike also won a national championship with a jump of 42 feet, 2 1/4 inches in the triple jump. That mark was also best in the nation indoors this season and a new school record.
Minssen earned third place in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet, 1 1/2 inches. Moore picked up third place in the pentathlon with 3,923 points and earned an eighth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.86.
Koepke finished fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.64 while Mihalinec posted a time of 7.58 in the 60 meter dash to finish in seventh.
Koepke and Mihalinec teamed with Puc and Moore to earn a third-place finish in the 4 x 400 meter dash in a time of 3:45.84.
The Mavericks earned a fourth-place finish in the national meet, their second top five finish in a row.
