SEASIDE, Calif. - #Erin Ommen# fired a final-round score of 75 to lead the UNO golf team to a fifth place finish at the Lady Otter Spring Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay. The Mavericks finished with a team score of 624.
The University of British Columbia won the tournament with a team score of 600. Host Cal State Monterey Bay finished second with a score of 606. Sonoma State and the first round leader, California Baptist, finished in a tie for third at 619.
There were 19 teams in the tournament.
Ommen finished as UNO's top scorer with a two-day total of 151. #Dani Suponchick and Armana Christianson#, who led UNO with a score of 75 on Monday, tied for second on the team with a score of 156. #Abbey Weddle# was fourth for UNO after firing a two-day score of 161, and #Rebecca Pollock# carded a score of 170 for the tournament.
CSU Monterey Bay's Cecilia Chudivan was the individual medalist with a two-day total of 146. She had a one-under par 72 on Tuesday.
The Mavericks return to action this weekend at the Upper Iowa Spring Invitational in Ankeny, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, April 2 and 3.
