The top-ranked Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team will look to accomplish what it did after winning its second NCAA Division II title in 2004 - repeat as champions in front of the home fans. The Mavericks host the 2010 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships on March 12-13. A total of 160 wrestlers from 39 schools will pack Sapp Field House for the two-day tournament.
Session one first-round action is set for an 11 a.m. start on Friday, March 12, with session two beginning that evening at 6 p.m. Saturday's morning session is slated for 10 a.m. with the finals set for an 8 p.m. start Saturday night. UNO is the only school to qualify all 10 of its wrestlers for the National Tournament.
Last Year at the National Tournament
The UNO wrestling team capped off an undefeated dual season (13-0) with its sixth National Championship in school history, crowning one individual champion. The Mavericks finished with a total of 146.5 points, shattering their previous high of 117 points set in 2006. UNO nearly doubled second place Newberry which finished with 80.5 points.

The Coaches
Mike Denney is in his 31st season as the Maverick head coach. Last week at the 2010 MIAA Duals, Denney reached a career milestone when he earned his 300th career win at UNO. The Dakota Wesleyan graduate has a 302-110-5 (.730) career mark. He has been named the NCAA II National Coach of the Year three times and led the 1991, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009 Mavericks to NCAA Division II national championships.
