
Ommen To Represent UNO at West Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Senior #Erin Ommen# will represent the UNO golf team at the 2010 NCAA Division II West Regional beginning next week. The Mavericks did not qualify as a team, but Ommen, who was UNO's sole representative at the 2009 NCAA Championship, was one of four individuals selected to play alongside nine teams.
Ommen leads the Mavericks with a stroke average of 78.2. She has posted six top-ten finishes in ten events this season. She also is a two-time Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Player of the Week and helped the Mavs to their second straight MIAA Championship last week.
Tarleton State is the top seed in the West Region followed by California State Monterey Bay, Grand Canyon University, St. Edward's, Sonoma State, Angelo State, West Texas A&M, Western Washington and Northeastern State.
The West Regional will be held at the Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo, Texas from May 2 - 4. The top three teams and the top three individuals not with a team will advance to the NCAA Division II Championship in Mesa, Ariz on May 12 - 15.
