ANKENY, Iowa - #Erin Ommen# shot a final round 76 to lead the UNO golf team to a win at the Upper Iowa Spring Invitational on Saturday at the Otter Creek Golf Course. Ommen tied for first overall with a score of 152 and was the individual medalist.
The Mavericks finished with a score of 619, 13 strokes ahead of Truman State which finished second. Minnesota State finished third with a team score of 639.
Ommen shot back-to-back rounds of 76 to lead the Mavericks for the second straight tournament. She was eight over par. #Abbey Weddle and Rebecca Pollock# tied for second on the team and ninth overall with a score of 157. #Armana Christianson# was fourth at 158, and #Dani Suponchick# finished the two-day event with a score of 160.
The Mavericks return to action at the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Spring Invitational on April 12 and 13 at Granbury, Texas. It will be their last tournament before defending their Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championship on April 19 and 20.
