Final Results
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The UNO track and field team set seven new personal bests at the Ward Haylett Invitational at Kansas State on Saturday. #Anja Puc# led the way with one of the top times in the nation in the 1,500 meters this season.
Puc, running the event for just the second time this season, posted a time of 4:29.83, good for second place. Her time is the sixth-best in the nation pending all results from the weekend. Teammate #Megan Oddo# was eighth in a time of 4:55.20.
For the third straight week, thrower #Madison Haugland# set a new personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 158 feet, four inches, good for a fourth-place finish. The mark was more than four feet better than the pr she set last week. Haugland also finished eighth in the discus with a mark of 112 feet, 10 inches.
Fellow thrower #Lianne McNaughton# finished second in the shot put with a personal best mark of 43 feet, 11 ¼ inches.
#Sami Spenner# continued to improve her own personal bests in the long and triple jumps. She finished eighth in the long jump with a pr of 17 feet, seven inches. Her triple jump mark of 37 feet, two and a half inches was good for second place.
Running the 3,000 meter steeplechase for the second straight week, #Nicole Behm# set a new personal best with a time of 12:00.16, shaving more than five seconds off her previous time.
#Kayla Murphy# had a new pr in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.23, good for sixth place. Teammate #Jody-Ann Coore# was fourth in a time of 14.69.
#Maja Mihalinec# posted a win for the Mavericks in the 100 meters with a time of 11.82, just .01 second shy of her season best. Teammate #Molly Belling# finished fourth at 12.27.
The Mavericks now turn their attention to the MIAA Heptathlon-Decathlon Championship at Missouri Southern starting Sunday. Senior #Shannon Moore# will be defending the heptathlon championship she won last season.
