Mavs Drop One Spot in Weekly Track Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The UNO track and field team moved down one spot in the latest Division II poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Mavericks are now ranked 16th after reaching a season-high of 15th last week. They are still the second-highest ranked MIAA team in the poll.

Missouri Southern has the highest ratings among conference teams. The Lions continue to hold down the eighth spot after winning the MIAA outdoor championship last weekend. Pittsburg State moved up three places to 18th while Central Missouri was down one to 21st.

This is the third week for the Mavericks in the national outdoor rankings.

UNO returns to action this weekend when it competes in the Doane College Last Chance Qualifier on Friday, May 14 and the Emporia State Sam Williams Qualifier on Saturday, May 15. They are the final meets before the Mavericks take part in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship in Charlotte, N.C. on May 27 - 29.
