Puc Earns Double Win in Slovenian Championship

MARIBOR, Slovenia - UNO's #Anja Puc# won the 400 meters and 800 meters in the Slovenian National Championship track meet held on June 12 and 13. Puc, a native of Medvode, Slovenia, recently completed her junior season at UNO with national championships in the 800 meters both indoors and outdoors.
Puc took first in the 400 m with a time of 54.22, a mark that ranks third-best on UNO's all-time list and is just .53 behind Pinar Saka's school record.
Puc won the 800 in 2:04.59, just a shade off her school record time of 2:04.25 run last month at the 2010 NCAA Division II outdoor championship.
Puc's UNO teammate and countrywoman #Maja Mihalinec# tied for sixth place in the 100 meters at 12.16 and was sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.79.
Mihalinec also faced off against Puc in the 4x400 meter relay. Puc's track club won the event with a time of 3:54.63 while Mihalinec and her club finished in third at 3:57.33.
Mihalinec also ran for her club's 4x100 meter relay.
