
Puc Named Third Team Academic All-American

TOWSON, Md. - UNO's #Anja Puc# was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team today. The awards are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Puc was named an All-District First Team pick back on June 3.
Puc is a two-time national champion in the 800 meters and a four-time All-American this season. She won the outdoor 800 meter championship in a school record time of 2:04.25, a mark that is also the fourth-fastest in Division II history. In March, she also won the 800 meter indoor championship in a time of 2:07.14. In addtion, Puc was a member of UNO's 4x400 meter relays which finished third and fifth at the indoor and outdoor national championships respectively.
Puc finished the season with the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association's top times in the 800 meters indoors and the 800 and 1,500 meters outdoors. She also had the MIAA's second-best time in the 400 meters outdoors behind teammate #Kayla Koepke#.
The native of Medvode, Slovenia carries a 3.73 cumulative grade point average in international studies.
