Mavericks Earn Qualifying Marks at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - #Nkeiruka Domike# broke her own school record in the triple jump to lead the way for the UNO track and field team at the Holiday Inn Invitational on Saturday at Nebraska. Domike also set the top mark for the event in the nation in automatically qualifying for the NCAA Division II indoor championshp.
Domike won the triple jump with a leap of 43-5 1/4, 15 inches farther than her school record set last year. It's the best mark in the country by nearly four feet pending other results from this weekend.
Domike was one of four Mavericks to qualify for the national meet today. Senior #Kayla Koepke# ran a time of 57.23 in the 400 meters to earn a provisional qualifying mark. It was good for fourth place. She also took fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.54.
In the field, senior #Heather Minssen# threw a qualifying mark in the shot put with a toss of 46-4. Freshman #Kathie-Lee Laidley# earned a provisional qualifying mark in the high jump with a leap of 5-6.
The Mavericks return to action next weekend when they travel to both the Iowa State Open and the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational.
