Mavericks In Action at Nebraska Wesleyan Invitatio

LINCOLN, Neb. – #Maja Mihalinec# won two events in her first meet of the year, leading the UNO track and field team at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational on Friday night. The meet was held at the Devaney Center on the Nebraska campus.
Mihalinec took first in the 60 meter dash, finishing in a time of 7.74, edging out Rachel Lewis of Northwest Missouri State. She also took home first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.76 which is also a qualifying mark for the NCAA championship meet.
#Nkeiruka Domike# also earned a first in her first ever appearance in the long jump. She had a qualifying leap of 18-8 ½ to lead UNO to a 1-through-4 sweep in the event. #Kathie-Lee Laidley# was second at 18-1 ½ while #Sami Spenner# took third (17-11 ¾) and #Denneil Shaw# fourth (17-10 ¾).
#Kayla Koepke# earned a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 57.73 and clocked the fourth-best time in the 200 at 25.71.
In the field, #Heather Minssen# was third in the shot put at 46-2 ¾.
The Mavericks return to action on Saturday at the Iowa State Open in Ames.
