Mavericks Take To The Track at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The UNO Mavericks found stiff competition while running in the first day of the prestigious Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas on Friday afternoon.
The Mavericks were unable to qualify any of three runners for the finals while racing against almost exclusively Division I athletes.
#Anja Puc# got boxed in during the invitational heat of the 800 meters, finishing in 12th place with a time of 2:10.75. It was just the second time she has competed in the event this season.
#Kayla Koepke# ran a time of 57.31 in the 400 meters but did not advance. #Maja Mihalinec# posted a time of 7.67 in the 60 meter dash prelims but did not advance to the evening's semis.
The Mavericks return to action tomorrow with Mihalinec in the 200 meters plus field events including #Heather Minssen# in the shot put, #Kathie-Lee Laidley in the high jump and Nkeiruka Domike# in the triple jump.
