Spenner Finishes Sixth In Day One of MIAA Champion

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Sophomore #Sami Spenner# took sixth place in the pentathlon, giving the UNO track and field team its first point in the MIAA Indoor Championships on the first day of competition.
Day two of the meet begins Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
Spenner, who began competing in the event for the first time this season, finished with 3,352 points. Her best finish of the day came in the final event, the 800 meters. She finished in a time of 2:26.10 to finish behind Central Missouri's Lindsay Lettow who also won the overall pentathlon championship with a score of 3,961.
Spenner also took fourth place in the long jump with a mark of 17-3 1/2. She was also fifth in the high jump (5-2 1/2), ninth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.70) and ninth in the shot put (30-5 1/2).
Among the acton on day two, #Nkeiruka Domike# will defend her MIAA triple jump title from 2010.
