Laidley Resets Long Jump Mark at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - Freshman #Kathie-Lee Laidley# earned the top jump in the nation in the long jump at day one of the Frank Sevigne Invitational hosted by Nebraska. Action continues on Saturday at noon.
With other action from around the nation still to be tabulated, Laidley posted a jump of 19-0 1/4, bettering the previous best mark in the nation by two inches. She finished third in the event behind only two Division I athletes.
Also on day one, sprinters #Maja Mihalinec and Kayla Koepke# qualified for the finals of three sprint events. Mihalinec will go into the finals of the 60 meter dash seeded sixth after running 7.63 in the preliminaries on Friday night. She also will be seeded fourth in the 200 meters after posting a time of 24.73.
In the 400 meters, Koepke ran a time of 57.08 and will be the eighth seed in the finals on Saturday. The time was slightly better than her previous season high time of 57.23.
Also on Saturday, #Anja Puc# will race in the 800 meters for the first time this season, #Heather Minssen# will take part in the shot put, Laidley will take aim at her own newly set school record in the high jump, and #Sami Spenner# will jump for UNO in the triple jump.
